Abstract:

Background and Objective: With regard to earthquakes and their sudden occurrence, special programs should be designed and implemented for various amusement centers and people in order to encounter a probable disaster as well as to show appropriate and on-time reaction against it. In this paper, the main objectives are to increase people awareness and preparedness to encounter disasters and promote disaster management system in the entertainment centers such as cinemas. Methods and Materials: From the total cinemas in the capital city of Iran, ten cases have been investigated based on available samples in the north part of Tehran. The data has been collected through interviews and field checklists and has been analyzed and quantified. Questions related to the objectives of the study were also asked randomly from few of those present in the cinema. Results: The study shows the importance of places such as cinemas which have constant people commuting in and out regularly. With regard to the gathering information, the low level of people awareness about earthquakes in cinemas as well as the facilities and systems that has to be upgraded in these places, were observed and noted through the findings. Conclusion: In total, the results show that besides increasing the level of awareness and preparedness of people, the systems for encountering disasters also need to be provided or if available, need to be promoted in order to function properly at the time of disasters. Therefore, in addition to improving the level of people preparedness and knowledge, it is also necessary to build disaster management systems for encountering emergency situations or to upgrade the existing systems. Some of these suggestions can be used by both groups of people and the personnel in places such as cinemas.

Context and Purpose:Considering the human origin of many factors causing contemporary environmental crises, it seems that the best solution is to change human attitudes and behaviors. This transformation requires enhancing the environmental literacy of individuals and groups. This research was designed and conducted to examine the role of television in increasing environmental awareness using the Elaboration likelihood model in Tehran.Methodology:The statistical population of this study consisted of students from Tehran universities. Based on the items used in the questionnaire and the responses, it can be understood that the audience is interested in watching and increasing the number of programs focused on and attentive to the environment, believing that these programs enhance their enjoyment and promote a green lifestyle.Findings:  However, according to the responses regarding awareness-raising items, television shows significant weaknesses in reflecting, explaining, and clarifying instances and concepts related to the country’s natural resources and environment, failing to meet their needs and adequately address environmental issues. Conclusion:Therefore, the quality of reasoning and cognition in environmental educational programs on television should be emphasized more. People respond to persuasive messages through mental and cognitive reasoning and evaluate them. And using a secondary route such as using celebrities has less effect. This means that scientists, experts, and researchers should be used more. Considering the biological capacities of the country that we enjoy due to its geographical and climatic location, it has provided special conditions that the media, especially television, can use to prepare various programs. Also, the extent and intertwining of environmental challenges and crises such as water resource shortage, subsidence, air pollution, land use change, forest fires, and waste management require that the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation pursue a scientific and continuous approach in order to create concern for various environmental issues. The evaluation probability model was designed and implemented in Tehran.

Abstract:

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Electronic equipment production is one of the major industrial sectors in Indonesia, as it also contributes to Indonesia’, s export commodities, which increase because of rapid technological developments. Cell phones, which have considerable potential to become electronic waste, recorded the enormous escalation in electronic production. This research aimed to increase community involvement and the collection of used cell phones from households in e-waste management in Indonesia. A survey was conducted to explore a household’, s environmental awareness and willingness to recycle based on sociodemographics, environmental hazard awareness, and used cell phone usage in Jabodetabek, Indonesia. METHODS: In this research, a peer questionnaire was used and organized into five sections: The first section contained the sociodemographic details of the respondents. The second section comprised multiple concerns that relate to recycling and environmental awareness. The third section contained the family cell phone information. The fourth section determined the cell phone consumer behavior. The fifth section consisted of willingness to recycle. Statistical correlations between variables were assessed, and the chi-square independence test was used to evaluate the statistical correlations. FINDINGS: Mostly the households will replace their used cell phone if there is damage (66. 84%) and keep the used cell phone at home (59. 5%), thus becoming an obstacle in applying the appropriate recycling system and a circular economy. The average cell phone ownership in Jabodetabek is 1. 28 units, and the average cell phone life span of people in Jabodetabek is 2. 6 years. The Environmental Hazard Awareness variable has significant differences with occupation and income level (p-value = 0. 028 and 0. 046), Used Cellphone Usage variable has significant differences with the income level variable (p-value = 0. 024). The others, a statistically significant difference between sociodemographic variable and Willingness to Recycle was observed,p-value = 0. 003 for age and p-value = 0. 034 for occupation. CONCLUSION: This paper showed that Environmental Hazard Awareness and Willingness to Recycle have an important role in increasing the collection of used cell phones from households. . This study assessed community-based factors located in urban areas. The factors could encourage their participation in collection activities, obtain information on the preferred collection channels of residents, and provide a perspective for managing cell phones through an analysis of the improvements and influences of Indonesia’, s current e-waste recycling program. Therefore, to develop a new strategy, the findings of this study can provide insights into the e-waste problem and citizen’, s awareness of e-waste management.

Abstract:

World Cancer Day (WCD) is celebrated on February 4th each year around the world to remind the efforts done by united nations, World Health Organization (WHO), and other governmental and non-governmental health organizations with the aim of delivering the real message about cancer and its treatments to fight against this fatal disease through uniting all the people on global basis (1-4). In brief, cancer is a large group of different disorders involving unregulated cell growth. In malignancy, cells divide and grow uncontrollably to form malignant tumors and to invade neighboring parts of the body. The cancer tumor may spread to more distant parts of the body through blood or lymphatic systems (5-8). It has been observed that most of the cancer cases and related deaths happen in less developed countries that this situation is expected to get worse by 2030. Therefore, it is very crucial to get control over such condition throughout the world. Furthermore, WCD aims to save millions of preventable deaths every year by raising alertness and by educating people about malignancy, while forcing the governments throughout the world to take action against this disease (2-8). The day is also a key chance for cancer patients to ensure that world leaders stick to the promises they made at the United Nations Summit for reducing the cancer and its impacts. During this particular occasion, participants try to promote healthy lifestyles, balanced diet, regular physical activity, weight management, as well as using antioxidants in order to diminish the risk of malignancies (1-8). Furthermore, this day is celebrated to plan certain new strategies and to imply various new programs in order to make people aware of this disorder. WCD is also celebrated to make non-patient people aware about the preventive methods and the risk factors of cancer (2-8). The theme of WCD of 2014 is "Debunk the Myths" because some people believe that if they contact or live with a patient who has cancer, they would get cancer as well. The day is, therefore, distinguished to eradicate such types of the social myths (5-13) and to make certain concepts about different aspects of the malignancy, such as its symptoms, causing factors and treatment (1, 3, 9). Furthermore, on this day, some of activities are organized to indicate that cancer patients should not be treated distinctly, while they are entitled to the same rights as normal people in the society (14-19). Although they have less chances of existence, they should be fulfilled their wishes by their relatives. It should not make them sense that the treatment remedies are given them for existence as they are dying. In this regards, it is very important to make them feel better like a normal person. They should be also prepared a normal environment in their home and society. It is essential that normal people avoid being overly sympathetic to them (20-27).

Abstract:

The center of the political, economic and cultural buildings in Iran is Tehran, where almost the entire city is on a fault and is at risk. Other problems such as over-population, vehicles, worn tissue, etc. cause environmental pollution and unsustainable city residents; therefore, city managers are too much worried. That has led them to think and provide strategies to solve problems, particularly in the context of environmental problems caused by the wear in the metropolis. This study aimed to evaluate the improvement of environmental awareness in Tehran of those who were worn tissue repair experts. Applied research and descriptive research methods have been deployed. The awareness of the seven aspects of the environment of these experts were attempted and the results are shown in this research. The concepts of environmental awareness of environmental experts were shown to have been satisfactory, but in other aspects they were recognized as unaware. Experts were found in various aspects to differ by gender. Knowledge also plays a significant role in the perception of these experts.
